| Chapter President | Rosario Mendoza | Rosario’s FFA journey began her freshman year when she attended the Greenhand Leadership Conference. That experience opened her eyes to the opportunities FFA could offer and inspired her to run for an officer position. The following year, she served as Chapter Sentinel, followed by Chapter Vice President her junior year. Now, Rosario is proud to serve as the Newman FFA Chapter President. Throughout her FFA journey, Rosario has continued to grow through leadership experiences and conferences. She has attended State Leadership Conference, MFE, ALA, National FFA Convention, and the Change Makers Summit. She has also had the opportunity to serve as a delegate at the sectional, regional, and state levels. Rosario has competed in the Creed and Parliamentary Procedure, giving her opportunities to strengthen her confidence, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Rosario also ran for sectional office and was elected Tri Rivers Section President. Each of these experiences has helped shape the leader she is today and taught her that leadership is not just about holding a title, but about serving others, creating opportunities, and making every member feel like they belong. As Chapter President, Rosario is excited to give back to the chapter that has given her so many opportunities. She hopes to encourage members to get involved, step outside of their comfort zones, and discover their own passions within FFA. With everything she has learned along the way, Rosario is ready to make this year one filled with growth, leadership, and unforgettable memories for the Newman FFA Chapter. |

| Chapter Vice President | Kimberly Hurtado | For Kimberly, FFA has become more than just an organization. It has become a place where she has grown, found her voice, and learned the importance of helping others. Her FFA journey began her freshman year through the B.I.G. Team and Creed Speaking, and even more during her first conference, the Greenhand Leadership Conference, where she first stepped out of her comfort zone. Since then, she has served as Chapter Treasurer and is now proud to serve as the Newman FFA Chapter Vice President and Tri-Rivers Sectional Reporter. Throughout her journey, Kimberly has attended COLC, MFE, ALA, State Leadership Conference, Change Makers Summit, and National FFA Convention. She has also served as a delegate at the sectional, regional, and state levels and competed in Creed Speaking, Parliamentary Procedure, Veterinary Science, and El Credo. These experiences have helped her grow in confidence, communication, teamwork, and leadership. Kimberly believes being an FFA officer is more than having a title. It is about helping others, creating opportunities, and making every member feel welcome. As Chapter Vice President, she hopes to encourage members to get involved, try new things, and believe in themselves. Kimberly hopes to continue giving back to the organization that has given her so much and help make this year a year of growth, friendship, and great memories for everyone in and outside the blue jacket.

| Chapter Secretary | Kelly Zapien | This year, Kelly has the privilege of serving as the chapter secretary, a dream she had been working toward for such a long time. The road was definitely not always easy, but every step along the way helped make this dream possible. FFA sparked a true passion in Kelly from the very beginning. When she first participated in Opening and Closing and served as one of the chapter’s presidents, she was surprised by how easily her lines came to her. Little did she know, that spark was only beginning to grow. Attending State Conference, being surrounded by thousands of FFA members, and pin trading quickly became some of her favorite memories. From participating in Occupational Olympics, going to sectional ice skating, attending monthly meetings, serving as the Tri-Rivers Sectional Delegate, and going on the Top 20 trip, every experience has been something she will always remember. Attending MFE and ALA, helping with the Crab Feed, and going line dancing have all played an important role in making her FFA experience what it is today. This year, Kelly will join a team, and there is even a tiny spark telling her to try something new: auctioneering. She is not sure if she will listen to that spark just yet, and she may even show a pig, we will see where this year takes her! No matter what this year holds, Kelly has one main goal as secretary: to make every single member feel included, valued, and like they truly belong in the chapter. That is the main reason she wanted to become an officer in the first place. She cannot wait to see what this year brings because it is completely unwritten, and she gets to help create the story. This year, she has chosen to live by the words: “Living to Serve.”

| Chapter Treasurer | Ylaria Garza | Ylarias FFA journey started her sophomore year when she joined her first team which was vet science. She then became more involved in FFA and attended the state leadership conference where she learned all about FFA and the community and skills that come from it. This gave her the confidence and knowledge to run for officer just to see what it would take to become an officer and what she needed too improve on her following year. From that experience of running for officer and not getting it that year she decided that her junior year she would try as many things that were FFA related so that she could be more involved and learn more about the responsibilities that come with being in FFA. Her junior year after attended many events and conferences as well as helping out her chapter she ran for officer again and is now serving as her chapter treasure. She still continues to attend events and conferences in order to bike up her knowledge and so far shes been to state conference twice and MFE and plans to attend ALA this up coming year. Thought her FFA journey she’s attended multiple vet science competitions and joined her opening and closing team and plans on competing in the Spanish creed this year.Throughout her journey she learned that holding a title and making something of herself in FFA wouldn’t happen overnight it was going to take time and involvement as well as keeping up with responsibilities in order to do her job well. As chapter treasurer Ylaria hopes to do the best she can in everything she gets herself involved in as well as help new students or ones who want to be more involved but don’t know where to start realize that in FFA there is a place for everyone and their interest all it takes is stepping out of your comfort zone. She’s excited to start the year off strong as well as making as many memories as she can throughout the year!

| Chapter Parliamentarian | Izabella Rodriguez | As the year begins, Izabella is thrilled to look back on the many pieces of her journey that has led up to her position as this year’s chapter Parliamentarian. She has participated in many Career Development Events such as Best Informed Greenhand, Cotton Judging, and Veterinary Science. Izabella has also been able to expand her skills through Leadership Development Events beginning with Opening and Closing annually, Creed Speaking, Impromptu, and reaching state level with Parliamentary Procedure. Her participation also goes to making sure she attends every conference available to expand her connections. State Leadership Conference, Greenhand Leadership Conference, and Made For Excellence has allowed her to do this. This past year Izabella was even able to be a Sectional Delegate, representing her chapter. Of course, it brings Izabella a huge sense of joy to participate on a chapter level with monthly meetings, fundraising, banquets, AG leadership, the Top 20 Trip, and showing at the county fair. Though, involvement is not the only part of the organization she loves, it is the memories and friendships she has made along the way. Izabella is beyond excited to begin the year, and to see how every member grows and finds their passion just as she has.

| Chapter Sentinel | Diego Mendoza | Diego's FFA journey began his sophomore year when he attended the 2025 FFA State Conference. That experience opened his eyes to the opportunities FFA could offer and inspired him to run for an officer position. The following year, he ran for Chapter Sentinel, sadly he did not get the position but that did not discourage him, he knew he'd be coming back the next year to run again. Now, Diego is proud to serve as the Newman FFA Chapter Sentinel. Throughout his FFA journey, Diego has continued to grow through leadership experiences and conferences. He has attended State Leadership Conference and, MFE, ALA, he has also been awarded his State degree and had the opportunity to serve at this past years State conference holding the expo doors for courtesy corp. Diego has competed in job interviews and cotton judging, giving him opportunities to strengthen his confidence, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Each of these experiences has helped shape the leader he is today and taught him that leadership is not just about holding a title, but about serving others, creating opportunities, and making every member feel like they belong. As Chapter Sentinel, DIego is excited to give back to the chapter that has given him so many opportunities. He hopes to encourage members to get involved, step outside of their comfort zones, and discover their own passions within FFA. | Chapter Reporter | Logan Figueroa | This year, Logan Figueroa is stepping into his role as Chapter Reporter, a position he is excited and proud to take on. Logan is passionate about everything FFA has to offer and is grateful for the many opportunities it has provided him throughout his FFA journey. Now in his third year of being involved in Ag classes and FFA.Throughout his time in FFA, he has participated in Opening and Closing Ceremonies,fundraisers, chapter activities, leadership events, and many other opportunities that have helped him grow. Running for officer was scary at first, but with the guidance of his advisors he build so much confidence.Logan is planning on joining Veggie team and the Extempt team. This year will provide many meaningful skills and experiences that will guide him into being more familiar with his chapters (CDEs).As Chapter Repoter, Logan is fully committed to representing Newman FFA and making the most of every opportunity that comes his way.He wants to capture the memories, accomplishments, and moments that members will look back on for years to come. Logan hopes his work will encourage more students to become involved in FFA and discover the same sense of belonging and purpose that he has found. For Logan, this is more than just the beginning of many more opportunities, memories, friendships, and accomplishments to come. |
